PRG presents Fly me to the Moon

Paul Roos Gymnasium singing group’s concert, Fly Me to the Moon, is a classy Jazz and Champagne evening and will take place in the Drostdy Theatre on the 13th and 14th of September. Tickets are available at R150 at Room 14 or Drostdy theatre. Champagne and appetisers are included.

The concert will serve as a fundraiser to buy trumpets for the Young Virtuosi project. The Young Virtuosi project will see Paul Roos Gymnasium music teachers and learners giving lessons in music theory and brass instruments for young boys from primary schools all over Stellenbosch. The vision of this project is to raise musical awareness among younger children as well as to expand the range of instruments for high school orchestras in the long term.

About André Terblanché:

André Terblanché made his professional theatre debut at the early age of 17 in Hennie van Greunen’s stage adaptation of the award winning youth novel BREINBLIKSEM. In 2011 he obtained a B.Dram degree and in 2012 a BA Hons degree in drama and theatre studies from the University of Stellenbosch. Andre has starred in numerous stage productions and musical shows and was respectively nominated for a ATKV Word Trophy in 2014 for acting and in 2015 for his cabaret BALLADE VIR ’N BACKTRACK, alongside co-shoman Winand Grundling. Besides for a busy theatre career he’s successfully recorded two albums, OU MUSIKANT, with Marlie Katzke and SUB SAHARAN FOOTNOTES as the frontman of the indie rock band Kelderflux. He starred in the first and second season of the Kyknet series DIE BOLAND MOORDE, regularly performs in radio dramas for RSG and frequently travels to Doha, Qatar to perform in musicals and children’s productions in their national theatre. Whether he’s performing with his live band, ANDRE & THE SWINGERS, managing his entertainment coordinating company PRIMA PRODUCTIONS or selling musical instruments to young aspiring musicians at his family owned music store MUSIK-LOOD in Paarl, he believes in the power of the creating arts as a tool for social and personal development. André just completed a successful run of Queen at the Opera, which he will be touring with for the remainder of the year, as well as an array of Christmas shows and feature concerts.
