Rocket league takes the honours at Student Showdown 2022

The PRG A Rocket League team: Ian Conradie (C), Hugo Seraqui De Buttafoco and Ruan Viljoen produced once again on the 9th of August in the Student Showdown held at Paul Roos with ACGL.

“The Rocket League stream went ahead with Greybeard and Ultruism casting Paul Roos Gymnasium A (PRG A) vs the University of Cape Town’s first team (UCT A). This was the second time of the day that PRG A and UCT A would face off after a 2-1 win in group stages in favour of PRG A. With the mental edge and consistent mechanics PRG A would go on to win 4-0 in the best of 7 finals.”

Jacus Nel also defended his Clash Royale Term 2 School Split by placing second. Congratulations to Kaiden Wessels (UCT) for winning and Jacques Theron (Stellies) for placing 3rd.

The PRG CS:GO A team placed 4th after a tough group bracket. Congratulations to Rondebosch in first place in a very entertaining final against Parklands High School and the University of Cape Town placing third.

On the FIFA 22 front our PRG players placed very well in group brackets but just missed the playoffs. Congratulations to Zemaine Janza from UNISA who placed first, Siyabulela Ntuntwana from UCT in second and Nhlanhla Tebekwana from CPUT in third.

We thank all 102 students from the 10 different institutions that signed up on the day. We also would like to thank every staff member from ACGL.co.za for the quality event they ran at the school. To read the full wrap up from ACGL.co.za please visit https://acgl.co.za/news/Student-Showdown-Wrap-Up.
