Tiger Wheel and Tyre PRG Kaskar Fundracer

On 1 March 2023 Paul Roos Gymnasium celebrated its 157th birthday. In celebration of 157 years of education, Paul Roos learners enjoyed a jam-packed birthday programme. This included the first Tiger Wheel & Tyre PRG Kaskar Fundracer – a fun fundraising initiative which took place on 3 March 2023. The purpose of the fundraiser was to raise funds for the Sponsor-a-Paul-Rooser fund.

Hierdie fonds maak dit vir PRG moontlik om leerders uit behoeftige gesinne by te staan. Paul Roos-registerklasse het kragte saamgesnoer om fondse vir dié fonds in te samel. Die klas wat die meeste fondse kon invorder is met Gino’s pizza beloon. Twee registerklasse is uiteindellik met Gino’s pizza bederf. Graad 8A4 en Graad 9A2 het beide meer as R6000 per klas vir dié fonds ingevorder.

Register classes who participated in the Tiger Wheel & Tyre PRG Kaskar Fundracer also stood the chance to win cool prizes such as Casa Cerveza pizzas, RocoMamas burgers and chips, Paul Roos Kwikspar vouchers, and scrumptious Bar One bagels from Jack’s Bagels. These local businesses sponsored the prizes and made it possible for Paul Roos to incentivise its learners to bring some PRGees to the event. Prizes were allocated as follows:

Best Junior Team: Grade 9E1 (Paul Roos Kwikspar R100 vouchers)
Best Senior Team: Grade 12A4 (Casa Cerveza pizzas)
Best PRGees (Junior): Grade 8A4 (RocoMamas burger & chips)
Best PRGees (Senior): Grade 11E1 (Jack’s Bagels)

Die inisiatief is grootliks ondersteun deur plaaslike motorhandelaars Rothman’’s Autos (wat 1300 boereworsrolletjies geskenk én gebraai het op die dag), Suzuki Stellenbosch, NTT Volkswagen Stellenbosch en hoofborg, Tiger Wheel & Tyre (Stellenbosch). Hul finansiële ondersteuning, PRG-leerders se bydraes én ‘n goedhartige donasie van die 1983-oudleerdergroep, het verseker dat Paul Roos daarin kon slaag om altesaam R110 500-00 vir die Borg-‘n-Paul-Rooser fonds in te vorder.

How will this battle between the classes work?

STEP 1: ENTER AND PAY

• Each learner will contribute R50 towards the race
• A learner may contribute more than R50
• The register class to raise the most money will win a fun prize
• Payments to be made in your register class

STEP 2: GET A THEME 

• Get a theme for your team & bring some PRGees!

• Die Senior-klas met die meeste gees wen ook ‘n lekker prys

The racetrack is prepared by Cape Kaskar
Do as many laps as you can in your allocated time slot! Time is of the essence!
Work on swift change-overs at your pitstop.
Categories: Junior (Gr. 8’s & 9’s) & Senior (Gr. 10’s, 11’s & 12’s)
The class who does the most laps in their allocated time slot wins!

WHAT ELSE?

All learners receive a complimentary boerewors roll (compliments of Rothman’s Autos).
