Toastmasters Talent at Paul Roos Gymnasium
Everybody’s number one fear, according to many studies, is public speaking.
Eleven learners from Paul Roos Gymnasium willingly faced this fear by participating in the Toastmasters Youth Programme in February/ March.
This programme is internationally recognised, takes six weeks to complete, and ends with a gala evening. It aims to promote business, leadership and public-speaking skills.
Learners from Paul Roos Gymnasium have developed phenomenally by taking on this amazing opportunity.
Breda and Marita Strasheim, long-time members of Toastmasters, facilitated the programme at Paul Roos as a way of giving back to the Stellenbosch community.
Photos were taken at the Gala Evening on 4 April in the Japie Krige Hall at Paul Roos Gymnasium, where the final lesson culminated in showcasing the skills they had learned while on the programme.
