PRG shines at Stellenberg Invitational Meeting
On Saturday, 25 February, our Paul Roos Gymnasium track and field team delivered outstanding performances at the Stellenberg Invitational Meeting, showcasing our depth and talent across various events.
Our distance runners dominated the 3000m races, with impressive victories from:
- Liam Koekemoer (U15) – 1st place in 9:56
- Ernst Engelbrecht (U16) – 1st place in 9:53
- Steyn De Vos (U17) – 1st place in 9:37
In the jumps, Cronan Willis proved his versatility by securing 1st place in both Long Jump (6.39m) and Triple Jump (12.66m). Meanwhile, in the throws, Zak Hickman dominated the hammer throw with a massive 52.79m to claim victory.
A special highlight of the day was Joey Calitz, who was named Junior Victor Ludorum for his exceptional all-around performance. Joey secured 1st place in three events with remarkable results:
- Shot Put – 15.36m
- Javelin – 54.89m
- Discus – 57.54m
