Record-breaking year for Societas
In what appears to be a record-breaking year for Societas, over 100 hours of official Societas community service were completed by PRG learners this term. PRG Societas capitalised on the warm, summer days to inspire learners to clean up their environment, so many of those hours were spent picking up litter from the banks of the Eerste River. PRG learners also joined the Helderberg Beach Clean-up to tackle the litter left on Strand beach.
The Tops and Tags project also started again this term, so learners helped to sort the donations according to the type of plastic, before we donate it to the organisations who will use the proceeds from the recycling to buy wheelchairs. More information about this project will be released early next term.
Lastly, PRG Societas has partnered with Boots for Life again and are currently collecting secondhand togs and sports shoes for underprivileged athletes. Learners can still donate in the first Term 2, which gives our hostel boys a chance to rummage through their cupboards at home.
Thank you to each learner who took part in Societas this term. You are making an invaluable impact on your community.
